Dear Scott,
Words cannot begin to express the
appreciation and gratitude my family and I have for the personal service you
extended to me during my recent purchase. Like most people, I felt that
making a purchase over the internet was a risky endeavor. But you showed
that with patience, research and a little “thinking out of the box” the
experience can prove to be a rewarding one.
I was never one for conducting business
with strangers or for that fact with a business site unseen. You
demonstrated a feel for the buyer’s anxiety and never let it become a factor
with negotiations. From emailing the documents to setting up the wire
transfer, I never sensed any unscrupulous thoughts or practices. This is
coming from someone who spent over four years selling cars. Your business
acumen made for a very smooth transaction.
Upon arrival to Birmingham, I was given a
courtesy shuttle to your dealership from the airport. As fate would have it,
my interest in the car that I came to pick up shifted to another vehicle of
the same make. Mind you, this was after the VIN# was recorded by my lender
and the money wired for the initial vehicle. Your instructions were, “go
drive it and if you like it, we will work it all out!” I ended up purchasing
the car after driving it. In most cases, the deal would have fallen apart
there because most dealers hate surprises. This was not to be the case
with Donohoo Auto. On top of the rain filled day, the vehicle switch, or the
trip to the local Lexus Dealer to have an inspection, you still game me a
full tank of gas for the journey back to Columbus, Ohio and made me feel
like I was the most important customer of the day.
Also, a little update, when I arrived back
in Columbus I scheduled an appointment to have the warranty repair done on
the car. I told the service writer to check into the little shaking on the
front end when I brake. When I picked my car up, the warranty work was done
on the gear light, and they replaced the rotors and pads on the front end at
no charge! What a bargain! I can’t stop praising the decision to purchase
the vehicle from Donohoo. If I can ever provide a personal testimony to any
of your customers please feel free to look me up!

I just wanted you to know
that I received the check. I would like to thank everyone involved in this
sale. My son is sooooo happy in this vehicle. I hope that at last all of
the kinks have been worked out and except for maintenance this car will have
a long life ahead of it. Again, thank you and hopefully the green coolant

I talked to
Scott last week to let him know, that the Passat got here safe and sound.
Everything
worked out as planned. The car arrived within a week of payment (on Friday
4/8/05) and I'm very happy with my purchase. It looks and drives
great. No problems whatsoever. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another car
from you guys and would definitely recommend you to friends.
The truck
driver (George Wagner of Wagon Masters) spoke very highly of you and your
operation, and was just as happy as I was to have dealt with you.
Speaking of the
driver, he called me when he was about 2 hours from my location, which was
fine with me, because I couldn't wait to get my hands on the car. After we
figured out, that he wouldn't be able to get his truck up to my house (I
live on a hillside with narrow, winding roads leading up),he looked for a
good place in the area to park his truck and unload the vehicles parked
behind my car, as well as the Passat. .When I went to meet him, he had his
big rig parked literally in the middle of Pacific Coast Highway and had
already met the local Sheriffs, who told him just to be safe when unloading
the truck. He called them "very nice boys" :-)
He was a great
guy to meet and he got my car here without any scratches or dents. Say "hi"
to him the next time he picks up a car!

Dear Joe,
I hope all is well. I have a request regarding the conference in
October. I would love to tag Donohoo Auto Sales as the "Comeback Kids" and
invite them to attend the Ultimate conference. Their quick turn-around is a
great story! It was just June of last year that I received notice that
Donohoo Auto would be canceled due to low contract sales and a high claims
ratio (over 70%). Knowing that Chris Donohoo was getting ready to move his
lot and had hired a full-time finance manager, I requested some more time.
I worked with Scott Neal, his new manager, on how to present and market our
warranty program. In just a little over a year, they have become a top
producer for me!
At the end of 2004, they had sold a total of 54 contracts and their
claims ratio was down to 41%. Through July 31, they have already sold 94
contracts in 2005 and their claims ratio is only 12%. I would love to
recognize them for that! Let me know what you think. I look forward to
hearing back from you.
