VEHICLE DELIVERY AND PICKUPS
How do I get a vehicle delivered?
Tell us that you want your new car delivered to you! We will need a few pieces of information which may include some or all of the following depending on the situation:
1. Current pay stub dated within the last 30 days
2. Current utility bill with a correct address listed (i.e. gas, water, electric bills)
3. Color photo of your non-expired driver’s license
4. Proof of insurance with the new vehicle’s VIN number listed
Our goal is to make car shopping as easy as possible, and we are excited to offer home delivery during this time of quarantines and social distancing. Unfortunately, identity theft related transactions are on the rise, so to protect all customers from being victims of that crime, we must do extra due diligence for these types of transactions. That is why some of these pieces of information are required. They protect all customers from identity theft.
What happens at delivery?
One of our Sales Professionals will arrive at your scheduled delivery time, verify your driver's license and proof of full-coverage insurance, then we'll hand over the keys so you can take your new ride for a quick spin. If everything looks and feels good, you'll sign your registration paperwork and get to enjoy your new car.
What if I live in Birmingham, what if I'm outside Birmingham?
If you are within Birmingham or the surrounding suburbs, you may be eligible for free delivery. If you are outside of Birmingham, but are able to meet us, we can work with you to find a mutual meeting spot. If you are outside Birmingham and would like the vehicle delivered right to your door, there will be a transportation fee that is non-refundable.
What does the “shipping fee” cover? Is it refundable?
Our shipping fee covers one of our Sales Professionals delivering the vehicle to your house, picking up your trade, and walking you through the features of your new car. It is not refundable.
I have a trade-in. Will you pick it up from my house as well?
If you have a trade be sure to tell us that before your delivery. To give you the highest possible value for your current vehicle we ask for:
- VIN #
- Current exact mileage
- Color of vehicle
- Make of vehicle
- Model of vehicle
- Condition of the vehicle (this can be subjective but needs to be as accurate as possible or the initial trade value can change and can delay the process)
- 5 to 10 photos showing the interior and exterior of the vehicle
- Payoff information (payoff lienholder? or title in hand?)
We will do a brief inspection of your trade and happily pick it up when we deliver your new vehicle to you.
Do I have to be available at pickup or delivery, or can someone get the car on my behalf?
Yes! All parties involved in the purchase will need to be present at the time of the delivery or pickup.
How long will my delivery or pick-up appointment take?
We generally expect your pick-up or delivery appointment to take about an hour.
Can I still pick up my car from your dealership?
Of course! We feel coming into the dealership is still the best way to buy a car. From the test drive to signing the paperwork we are here to help you through it all. We understand the seriousness of COVID-19 and are offering an alternative purchase method to facilitate a healthy and happy customer experience.
Why has my vehicle appointment been delayed?
Donohoo Auto performs one last inspection prior to the transport of your vehicle. If we find something that does not meet our standards, it is repaired prior to your appointment, which may cause a delay. A Sales Professional will reach out to you to discuss the delay and ensure you are properly rescheduled.
What if I don't like my car? Can I return it?
At the time of delivery, we encourage you to test drive your vehicle and make sure everything meets your standards. Should you decide to not purchase, that decision will need to be made at that time. Once you take delivery and the salesperson departs, the purchase is final. If you decide not to purchase, the $99 fee is not refundable.
