Donohoo's philosophy is one of transparency. Customers are encouraged to start their auto search online. There,  more than 450 cars are listed with meticulous detail. Most listings feature more than two dozen photos, including multiple angles of the exterior, interior, as well as highlights of additional features.  "You'd be surprised at the number of people who drive hours to shop with us, not to mention the customers who buy vehicles from across or outside the country, sight unseen," says Eric Jones, senior sales pro. "I believe it's in large part due to our complete listings. It eliminates the surprise factor, which is important in buying a pre-owned vehicle."

At DonohooAuto, the sales process is also different from many dealerships. This is first evident in the test drive. After customers select the vehicles from the online inventory that they would like to see, vehicles are pulled to the front. In most cases, the customer then takes the test drive, alone, with no sales representative talking over their shoulder. Then, after they decide on the vehicle they'd like to purchase, customers are able to sit down with someone from the finance department one-on-one, without any go-between. It's different from many other dealerships, but our customers will tell you it's a good kind of different.

"After 30+ years of driving, and having made numerous vehicle purchases, I have never had a more pleasant experience than the two times I have purchased from Donohoo," says customer Hal Jackson.

"On our last visit, the car I was interested in was backed up to the the curb in front of the building as I had called ahead. We were invited to take it for a test drive at our leisure with no other interaction from their sales staff. We took the next half hour to inspect and drive the car, and then met with a member of their sales team who gave us hard copies of the CarFax and Auto Check reports for the vehicle. All vehicles that I considered were priced very reasonably with respect to KBB Fair Purchase Price and NADA numbers."
