Feature Friday! FETCH A Treat Truck for Dogs

Eat. Play. RUFF!

According to Roaminghunger.com, there are about 15 food trucks that work the Birmingham-Metro area serving delicious cuisine to its patrons.

My question is, what about the 4-legged friends that are with those patrons? Is there a food truck for them?

Thanks to the creativity of Allison Whitfield-Smith, the answer is yes! In September of 2014, Allison came up with the idea of creating a food and goodie truck for drugs. What a neat idea! Her inspiration came from watching a news segment on the television about a dog food truck in New York. Needless to say, this is still a very new idea around the country. Allison was looking for a change from her career, but she wasn’t sure if she should really open up a food truck for dogs. Eventually, she couldn’t talk herself out of it. She realized what she wanted to do. The idea of FETCH-A Treat Truck for Dogs officially became a reality. (Her dogs, LuLu and Lylah are also very happy to be official taste testers!) Allison said that owning a business is certainly an extension of yourself and it should revolve around something that makes you happy. Dogs have always been a part of her life and brought her happiness-this provided extra validation to her new adventure!

FETCH is the first dog treat truck in the state. You will find FETCH, Allison (possibly LuLu and Lylah, too) at festivals, dog parks and other pet-centric events throughout the year in the local area. They offer lots of lactose-free and yogurt-based items that are completely focused on being healthy and safe for your fur baby’s enjoyment. FETCH carries products that are grain and allergen free, all of the ingredients are listed on FETCH’s website to ensure that your pet will not ingest anything it may be allergic too. FETCH also offers outstanding gourmet goods, including custom order birthday cakes! Allison believes in giving back to the local community that has been so supportive of FETCH. A portion of all proceeds goes to animal shelters and rescue groups to help animals in need find forever homes.
