Have you put your dollar up at The Depot?! This week’s Feature Friday has a host of autographed dollar bills all around this historic building’s interior. Yet, the abundance of cash on the walls isn’t even as exciting as the scenic view from their back patio, the loud roar of the daily train passage, or the Birmingham-renowned hamburgers!
Before Matt and Tiffany took ownership of this family-friendly burger joint in 2002, it acted as a freight house and an activity center that withstood the 1895 fire, the 1993 tornado, and numerous floods. Since then, the all-American couple has turned it into a community-gathering hub for food, fun, and friends!
Matt, who has spent more than 20 years in the restaurant business, loves his job because of all the “civic-minded regulars” that he gets to interact with every day! So whether you’re just finishing up your baseball game at the nearby park or enjoying a summer afternoon in the Buck Creek Waterfalls, make sure to pay a visit to The Depot … and don’t forget to bring your dollar bill and best handwriting!
